Welcome to Lesley Moody Photography! I am so glad you are here! I am a photographer that specializes in newborn photography in Wichita, KS. I also specialize in maternity and baby milestone portraits, focusing on the beauty and authenticity of motherhood. The soft, light, neutral, and organic tones used in my photography produce elegant images that are simple, natural, and timeless.
My cozy home studio offers gorgeous natural light, bringing to life the details you want to remember in your newborn photography portraits--the tiniest of fingers and toes, the glow of your growing baby bump, the joy radiating from your baby's toothless smile, or the sweet love of the proudest big brother. Each of these moments is a priceless treasure that I want to capture and preserve in a photograph for you.

The experience
I. Before your session.
After you contact me HERE, I'll send you a detailed session guide that has ALL the information about a photography session with me. Once you book your session, I'll send you a contract, invoice, and questionnaire that will help me get to know you as we prepare for your photography session.
Then we will schedule a planning session at my Wichita home studio where we will discuss your vision for your session and pick out your family's clothing from my extensive studio wardrobe collection. This is the time to also look through my artwork samples to give you ideas of how you'd like to display your photographs.
II. During Your Session.
All sessions take place in the morning at my Wichita home studio. The clothing we picked out for your session will be pressed and ironed, ready to go.
Newborn photography sessions last about two hours (more or less, depending on the baby's needs and size of your family). Maternity, baby milestone, and one-year sessions last about one hour.
My goal is to capture the sweet, organic moments of interaction between your baby and each family member, so my photography sessions are relaxed and have a true life-style feel. Baby safe and secure in mama's arms or snuggled and kissed by a proud big brother. No posed baby in unnatural positions or with loud distracting elements or props that can take away from the natural beauty of a brand new life.
III. after your session.
You will receive a link via email to your online gallery within three weeks of your session date, along with a print release form.
This is the time to select printed artwork and to choose the images for your heirloom album if you've chosen to display and preserve your images that way.
After I design, order, and receive your artwork, we'll set up a day that you can come pick it up from the studio.
Now you can display and enjoy your photos in your home for years to come.
FAQ
When should I book my photography session?
A.Anytime you are ready to reach out and schedule! I take a limited number of sessions per month, so it is never too soon to reserve your spot.
How far along should I be for my maternity photography session?
A.Maternity photography sessions are usually best between 28-32 weeks. This way, you are far enough along to have a beautiful baby bump, but not too far along that you are uncomfortable or super close to your due date.
How does scheduling a newborn photography session work since we don't know exactly when the baby will come?
A.I will pencil in your due date on my calendar. As soon as you have your baby, you'll contact me with the exciting news, and we'll work out a specific day within the first three weeks of birth that works best for both of our schedules.
Where is your studio? Will you come to my home for my photography session?
A.My studio is in my home in north Wichita, KS. It is cozy and beautiful, and already set up with the perfect lighting and everything we need for your natural light and airy session. Because of this, I only do photography sessions in my home studio {and sometimes in the tree line behind my house!}
Do I have to wear clothes from your studio wardrobe?
A.90% of my clients choose to wear clothing from my studio wardrobe because it reduces the stress of trying to figure out (and purchase!) your family's outfits all on your own. However, some clients already have the perfect dress and clothes for their photography session and want to wear their own, which works out great too!
What does my newborn wear during the newborn photography session?
A.I have a selection of white or off white onesies for your newborn to wear. Most of the time, your newborn will also be wrapped in a simple neutral colored wrap to keep them naturally snug and cozy.
